Alex was a cat that had leukemia and lived her entire life on the street. She was cared for by workers in the Zona Franca. They worried about her a lot because she always seemed to eat by herself, she always to be by herself…it was really quite sad. Today (6/4/2013), Alex left us. The leukemia finally got the better of her, taking away a calm and sweet cat….before nobody ever really showed an interest in her but she was very much loved by all those that knew her and by her foster carer who made her the contented cat she was in the end. I’m sure her catmate Nima misses her very much too. Alex had eyes that practically spoke for themselves…..they were sweet little eyes. Now she’s at peace and I hope that she remembers all the good times, all those she had before she was rescued and those after. We especially hope that she takes with her the love that we, her foster carer and her feline friend Nima gave her.
Alex, wherever you are, we gladly surrender that part of our hearts that you took with you. Rest in peace darling Alex.
